Goals and focus
The Working group Energy Futures reflects the research activities around the necessary transformation of the energy system. It summarises knowledge and experience and discusses issues relating to the natural, economic and social objectives of the Swiss energy strategy. The results are disseminated through events and joint publications.
Several members of the working group are regularly involved in the INUAS ring lecture "Future of Urban Living Spaces", because the energy strategy can be implemented particularly efficiently in urban areas and sustainable energy technologies are today often understood as part of "Smart City" concepts.
For several years, the working group Energy Futures has focused on the topic of the social acceptance of renewable energies, their infrastructure and the associated energy systems (provision, efficiency). Under the title "Acceptance Research for the Energy Turnaround", the working group organized the saguf Annual Conference 2018, which was held as a Pre-Conference of the "Behave 2018" (5th European Conference on Behaviour and Energy Efficiency).
Starting in 2019, the working group will focus on the topic of "Impulses for energy system transformation": The mainstreaming of existing promising approaches (efficiency, consistency, sufficiency, incl. renewable energies) and the possibilities for motivating all stakeholders in the energy sector will be deepened. Experiences on activation, incentive systems, decision-making aids, business models and communication measures are to be exchanged.
